The English department welcomed our new form one students Saturday, the 12th of July. There were two sessions during the morning; the first one from 9:10 – 10:40 and the second from 11:00 to 12:30.
During the orientation sessions Miss Janie and Miss Ngai welcomed the students and introduced the activities for the day. Then Mr. Corrie played games with the students before they proceeded to the game booths that were set up in the Study Centre.
Everyone enthusiastically enjoyed the games Mr. Corrie played with the students. There were parachutes and ball games and we even had a ping-ping ball relay. The students were very excited.
The game booths covered basic skills and vocabulary the students needed to practice before the coming school year. The game booths were:
1) Spelling and the alphabet
2) Numbers and basic calculations
3) Hobbies
4) Dates
5) My new school
6) Tongue Twisters
